Editorial Standards — Central Coast Hub exists to answer four questions for people who live in or visit San Luis Obispo County and the surrounding Central Coast: What’s happening? Where should I go? What’s new? What should I know? These standards explain how we earn the trust that job requires.
Who publishes this
Central Coast Hub is founded and published by Joe Pivovaroff, a Central Coast local. Joe is also a licensed California real estate agent (CA DRE #02299680) with NextHome Central Coast. That background informs our Homes & Real Estate coverage; it does not drive the rest of the site. Community content comes first, always.
How we source information
Events
We verify date, time, location, and cost against the organizer’s official listing before publishing, and we mark pages with the date details were last verified. When an organizer changes details, we update or remove the listing.
Businesses
Directory listings come from the businesses themselves or from our own verification. We never invent hours, addresses, or phone numbers.
News and development
We prioritize original sources — city council agendas, county planning documents, official announcements — and link to them so you can read the source yourself. We add explanation and organization; we don’t just copy other outlets.
Guides
Written from firsthand local knowledge and verified against current conditions at the time of publication.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. If you spot a mistake, email info@centralcoasthub.com. Substantive corrections to published articles are noted on the page with the correction date.
How businesses and events are selected
Listings are selected for usefulness to Central Coast residents and visitors: accurate, current, and relevant to the community. We do not charge for basic directory listings or event listings.
Paid placements
Some businesses pay for enhanced “Featured” placement in the directory. Featured placements are always clearly labeled as featured/sponsored so you can tell the difference between editorial listings and paid ones. Paying never buys a favorable write-up, a higher ranking in guides, or suppression of accurate information.
What we don’t do
We don’t publish rumors as news, we don’t present sponsored content as editorial, and we don’t let any advertiser — real estate or otherwise — dictate community coverage.
Updates
Community pages and guides carry a “last verified” date. We review high-traffic pages regularly and update them when facts change.
