Paso Robles

Lively palm-lined street with cafes on the Central Coast

Paso Robles

Paso Robles is the heart of Central Coast wine country, a North County city where historic downtown streets, natural hot springs, and more than 200 surrounding wineries give it a character all its own. Walkable tasting rooms, a landmark downtown park strung with lights, and a calendar full of concerts and fairs make it feel both lively and easygoing. It is the kind of place people visit for a weekend and start imagining as home.

Things to Do

  • Explore downtown tasting rooms. Downtown Paso Robles is lined with tasting rooms, including JUSTIN's downtown tasting room and Alpha Omega Collective, all within easy walking distance of each other.
  • Visit Sensorio's Field of Light. Bruce Munro's immersive outdoor art installation lights up the hillsides with more than 100,000 solar powered fiber optic spheres, at 4380 Highway 46 East.
  • Walk Downtown City Park. The historic 5 acre park at 800 12th Street has a gazebo, playground, horseshoe pits, and heritage oak trees. It hosts summer Concerts in the Park and holiday celebrations.
  • Catch the California Mid-State Fair. Held each summer at the fairgrounds, the fair brings livestock shows, carnival rides, concerts, and classic fair food to town.
  • Wander the wine trail. Head out on Highway 46 East and West or into the Adelaida District to visit estate wineries, tasting rooms, and vineyard restaurants.
  • Spend a day at Lake Nacimiento. Just west of town, the lake offers boating, fishing, and swimming with oak covered hills all around.
  • Browse the weekly farmers market. Local growers set up downtown, a longtime community tradition.
